These shortie socks were designed to use a half-skein bonus the dyer sent me; the patriotic colorway gives us the name! The pattern is interesting in a variegated yarn or a solid, and there are modification instructions for a long pair as well.

Finished Size: Small, Medium, Large (7”(8”, 9”) circumference)

Yarn: Awenydd Yarn and Fiber Elemental Sock, 100% Superwash Merino, 438 yards/100g; sample knit in Rocket Pop. Medium, ladies size 10 took 40g exactly.

Needles: Set of 5 double-pointed needles or two circular needles size 1 US (2.5 mm), or size to obtain gauge. Each knitter is different, so knit and block a swatch!

Gauge: 8 stitches per inch in stockinette, knit in the round.
