A riotous celebratory birthday party square for our most stalwart mod “Rockin’ Robin”.

This square features a birthday cake complete with a cherry and candles, a frilly skirt for dancing to the spinning vinyl discs surrounding the cake, a little lace, and party streamers. The design relies heavily on back loop stitching to produce the groovy detail on the records, and is further embellished with surface crochet after the main block is complete. There is a taster of tapestry crochet in the construction of the central cake motif, which probably makes it an intermediate/advanced design. But it is not difficult if you take it bit by bit.

Sizes available ( approximate)

Worsted weight yarn and a 5mm (H) hook, produces a 12” square.
A heavy DK on a 4mm (G) hook, produces a 9.75”.square.
A lighter DK and a 3.5mm (E) hook produces a 9.25” square.

Come to the party and enjoy yourselves!
