In February 2024, I released the Simplicity Socks pattern, which targeted a beginner knitter or beginner sock knitter. The Simplicity Socks pattern took a basic vanilla sock and gave it some ‘flair’ by adding a garter stitch panel. I wanted to show knitters that there are so many possibilities for creating socks, and also wanted to make the process as simple as possible, hence the name Simplicity Socks.

This Rocky Ridge pattern takes the Simplicity pattern a little further, by using only knit and purl stitches to create an all over stitch pattern. It is a simple combination of stitches that creates a beautiful diagonal pattern. As the pattern is worked over several rounds, it should keep you interested.

Rocky Ridge is a unisex pattern for adults - size S, M and L. Approximate sizes are as follows based on circumference:
S (M; L) – (21cm; 24cm; 26cm/8.5”; 9.5”; 10.5”)
Find the size closest to your foot size remembering to take into account the negative ease required. In general, you should have approximately 1”/2.5cm negative ease in the foot and calf circumference, and as always - remember to try on your socks as you knit.
