The Romancing the Beanie pattern is a fun, easy and rhythmic knit that is perfect for binge-watching your favorite show--hence, the name! Make it in one color or with a contrasting band to use up those partial skeins, in bulky or super bulky weight. It’s quick and easy in bulky and even quicker in super bulky, so perfect for market prep and gifting!

This one-size-fits-most pattern is easy enough for new knitters. The honeycomb band, framed by 2x2 rib on either side, is simply left and right cross stitches (1x1 cable) that work up quickly for wonderful texture and style in an otherwise simple ribbed beanie. And you can work them without a cable needle, with video tutorials included to show you how.

Easy-level pattern is written in US terms (English).
Pattern is for a one-size-fits-most unisex beanie with single brim that knits up in a couple of hours for super bulky and not much longer for bulky. Pattern is knit in the round from the bottom up with a 4-stitch repeat over 4 rounds creating the honeycomb section. Make each item unique by adding contrasting color for the band section or even different colors for brim, band and remainder of hat!

Materials:
Super Bulky yarn (recommend Malabrigo Rasta) with size US 13/15/17 (9/10/12.75 mm) circular needles and 16”/40 cm cord, 66 yds/60 m OR 44 yds/40 m main color with 24 yds/22 m contrast color.
Bulky yarn (Recommend Malabrigo Chunky) with size US 10/10.5/11 (6/6.5/8 mm) circular needles and 16”/40 cm cord, 82 yds/75 m OR 60 yds/55 m main color with 30 yds/27.5 m contrast color.
Many other brands will work too--just be sure to confirm gauge with a test swatch before beginning.

Please note, there are no instructions included to make a faux fur pompom. This pattern is for a beanie only.
