Romeo’s Snowball Sweater is knitted in worsted weight yarn. Size XS used very little yarn from skeins of Plymouth Yarn’s Galway Red (#44) and White (#8). One skein of each will make up the size large. Instructions are given to fit dogs with chest sizes of 13, 17, 21 and 25 inch chests.
The sweater is made up of 2 pieces: a back panel and a tummy panel. When the panels are sewn together, openings are left for the front legs.
The stitch pattern makes little circles resembling snowballs and is commonly referred to as blister or coin stitch. I have included written instructions and photos for making the ‘snowballs’ (It is not hard to do and the repeats are easy to memorize). Carry the alternating colors up the side of the sweater for minimal finishing.
