Ropey Moss Cardigan

This cardigan I made for the first birthday of the son of my dear friends. I just made it by head based on the stitch pattern of some socks I’m designing. This stitch pattern is based on a Scottish basic gansey pattern. Cables with moss stitches in between.
I made this cardigan by knitting the back at first, then the front panels TAAT and then the band all around the front panels and the neck of the back panel. And finally I knitted the sleeves, being a sock knitter, in the round starting in the armholes. I wanted to put in some pockets in the front but I was already past the place to do that, as this is not such a huge cardigan. I made the cuff extra long in order to have a proper sleeve cover.
As I wanted the cables in the middle of the front panels and in the middle of the sleeves, your gauge is important to know.
