ROS
Continuing my series of Maine phrases is the ROS kercheif. When asked how they’re doing, someone might respond “I’m right out straight!”
This means they’re incredibly busy.
I designed the ROS shawl to be a little moment of texture and peace in an otherwise busy life. We are always scooting off from one appointment to the next, inundated wtih emails, tasks, and a neverending list of to-dos.
To create space when I’m right out straight, I schedule little mini breaks into my day. I bring my laptop outside and work in the shade while the wind rustles leaves around me. I set aside time to sip an iced Americano downtown first thing in the morning, and check in with people I care about. I step away from the text messages and just knit for a few minutes. ROS is for those moments I need a small, portable project but want something other than socks and mitts! It’s a little neckwarmer, but it’s also a kerchief you can tie your hair back with.
You know I am a sucker for a good woolen spun yarn- and I also designed ROS to celebrate the release of Wooldreamer’s newest yarn, 90 Varas, which is releasing on 10/3! It is a gorgeous and lofty woolen spun that comes in a huge range of colors and is also priced very well. It has a soft hand thanks to the merino and is as light as air!
Kerchief is worked seamlessly in one piece from the bottom up, with an increasing center panel. Icord edging is worked simultaneously until it is applied horizontally across top edge.
