Rosazura is an asymmetrical art deco cloche worked in a light worsted weight yarn. It features garter stitch bands radiating from a framed staghorn cable. Rosazura was created using Berroco Lustra, which provides a subtle sheen and excellent stitch definition. Basic knowledge of cabling and short-row shaping is required. Ravelry recently featured a great article for creating German short rows which can be found here.

The name Rosazura is a portmanteau of the Italian words for rose and blue. It is named for my best friend of eighteen years. She is a smart, funny, adventurous woman, and I am lucky to bask in her unconditional love. Happy Birthday Rosie!

Errata: I used German short rows in Rosazura, and the pattern does not explain how to work them. Please refer to the linked Ask a Knitter article for instructions, pictures and video. I’m sorry if this has caused any trouble!

Please note: Rosazura is generously sized and will accommodate a lot of hair. It measures 10” from CO to brim, for a shorter hat, omit some of the plain stockinette between rows 24 to 38.
