Using a belt I have no more use for and some cotton a purse has come into existence to take me happily from day to night. Crochet is always at it’s best when used to create a textured fabric and this shows off how versatile those simple basic stitches can be.

Accessorise with whatever brooch, flower or decoration you fancy. Here I have ‘borrowed’ the Deco Rose by Jennifer Pedersen-Giles available on Ravelry (published in the Wind Rose Fiber Studio) which looks perfect. There are plenty of flower patterns to choose from if you decide to use something different.

Any worsted or aran weight yarn should work well in this project and I have included suggestions in how to alter the strap if you prefer not to use a belt.

Enjoy!
