Size 5/3.75 mm dpns and 24” circular. (Also Double Points in #2 or #3 for picking up edge stitches.)

The back of the shawl is a diamond (and is worked first, beginning at the base of the “V” … see the diagram), worked in Rose Lace diamonds. The sides are rectangles in several other lace patterns. The result is an unusual shape with a stole effect in the front.

The edging is worked sideways as the bind off.
