This is the second version of the Rose of Tyrone shawl. Rose 2 is a light, drapey triangular shawl covered in eyelet flowers. This shawl is perfect for springtime and even chilly summer nights! It was inspired by “Rose of Tyrone”, a song by Enter the Haggis that describes a woman waiting for her husband to return from war. I imagined her wrapping a cosy rose-colored shawl around her shoulders all those lonely nights.
Yarn: Loops and Thread Woolike, in colour 19 “Rose”, approximately 1017 yards (1.5 skeins)
Needles: US 4
Gauge: 24 sts and 36 rows in 4” in lace pattern
This pattern follows basic triangular shawl constructions with a simply lace pattern worked through the body.
