Rubic is a crescent shaped shawl, using a variety of stiches with main square lace motive, which reminds me of Rubic’s Cube. Festive colors make the knitting as much interesting as putting together each Rubic’s Cube wall. The shawl is worked top dawn, adding stitches at both ends and disturbed by short rows from time to time to finally achieve characteristic crescent shape, with one or two edgings of your choice.

any fingering weight yarn (# Super Fine), for your reference I used Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles in Concrete, Genie and Envy, 100% merino wool, 3.5 oz/ 400 yds (100 g / 366 m): 3 skeins of each color or approx: MC – main grey (Conrete) - 388 yds / 355m CS – contrast sparkle (Genie) - 295 yds / 270m CG – contrast green (Envy) - 317 yds / 290m

Needles
size US 4 - 3.5mm (working needles) and size US 2½ - 3mm at least 32” / 80 cm circulars or size to obtain correct gauge

Gauge
26 sts x 42 rows = 4”(10cm) in pleat st patt on US 4 (3.5mm) needles;
Select a yarn that has a recommended gauge of 20-24 sts /
4”(10 cm) and drapes well after blocking.
