The Ruffalo Shawl is a giant aran weight shawl constructed using Cascade 220 to create a plain base of trebles (US doubles) to work on.

Then using Stylecraft Special DK (or any other DK weight yarn), you create rows of ruffles along the bottom edge.

The ruffles are the reason that the yardage for this pattern is so high, using almost one 100g ball for each row.

The Ruffalo Shawl was originally featured in The Sewing Box Magazine Issue 8 and you can find the English version of the magazine for sale here (digital only).
