I designed this hat for running. It is thin, light, and washable, and doesn’t have holes in it. It weighs an ounce and can be carried in a small pocket. Since I don’t care for hats that cover my ears, it is short. Many thanks to my wife Sharon (sharonf on Ravelry), who knit it for me. She suggested using Judy’s Magic caston to start, which doesn’t leave a hole or bump. Sharon also translated my handwritten pattern into the neatly organized document available here and added clarifications to the second edition of the pattern.
