This pattern was inspired by my decision to run the 2013 Chicago Marathon in support of the charity Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing girls’ self-esteem, confidence, and leadership through play and running games.

Two leg heights are provided so you can customize your running* (or fashion!) experience. The low profile ankle socks are great for warmer months, while the longer mid-calf socks will keep your ankle joints warm and protected for winter running or hikes. Either option will leave plenty of yarn left over to knit the matching Runner’s Beanie!

Choose a bright main colour for improved visibility – a bright pop of colour will help drivers see you to keep you safer! The zig-zag pattern provides structure to keep your socks up through any distance.

Quality merino wicks away moisture for a chafe-free run and stays fresh longer, while the touch of nylon adds durability. Wash these items in a garment bag in the washing machine and hang to dry to ensure you can run in these socks for many miles!

Running is optional ;)
