Meet Rupert the 20 Pound Cat…

This cuddly oversized cat is worked up using large needles and chunky yarn. He makes a wonderful playmate for big and little kids alike – or you could place a weight in the base and put him to use as a door stop.

He sits 45cm tall - that’s a whopping 18 inches! He’s made using 7mm needles and 2 strands of yarn worked together as one. I’ve used a novelty fur yarn and a plain one - both 8ply/DK weight yarns. If you hate the idea of using two strands together - just use a SUPER BULKY yarn instead…

Want a smaller cat? Use one strand 8ply/DK with 3mm needles.

Want an even smaller cat? What about sock yarn and 2mm needles?

The possibilities are endless.
