This is a wonderful exercise for teaching Zen in knitting. You knit (or purl) in the long skinny two-colour strips you see (13 of them), increasing on one side of the fabric, and decreasing on the other. The decreases are P3tog tbl, but that’s a good thing to learn if you don’t know how, and it’s good for self-discipline. This is excellent travel knitting-- just roll up your strip and go. The finished product is a marvel, exquisite in hand-dyed colourways, and stunning on both sides. Instructions are provided for crocheting the strips together, if you prefer that to mattress stitch.
