Sailer is the second pattern released from a collection of patterns in an ebook called Bias Blitz Knitz that I have published on Ravelry.
Bias Blitz Knits is an ebook featuring 4 wrap patterns, each knit mostly in garter on the bias. The idea for the ebook began as I was designing “Swooper” the first scarf pattern in this collection. By the time I finished knitting the scarf, I knew there were more to come and Sailer, Ticker and Checker evolved. To give visual interest, I have added knit stitch variations like the elongated stitch in between garter bands which also help add length while keeping the width short and also shape the first 3 wraps. Checker is worked only in garter. None of the patterns use short rows or purling.

Knit it long, knit it wide to keep the cold out and feel warm inside!
Two-band repeats make up the Sailer scarf. The 1 st half of the scarf is worked as bands of garter stitches knit on the bias alternating with bands of knit stitch variations also knit on the bias to shape the scarf. The 2nd half of scarf is worked only in garter to desired length and width.
I have used 2 skeins of Mara and knit each half with one skein.
I have a small video clip for the pattern that I can email to you.

I thank Alena--A-Ko and Sanhita -- Rufarocrafty for test-knitting the scarf
