Short-sleeved sailor collar sweater with contrasting stripes on sleeves and collar. Pattern created for sizes small, medium, and large. Pattern features a surface crochet pattern of diamonds made with long single crochet stitches and knot stitches in center of diamonds. Instructions for long single crochet stitches and knot stitches included in the pattern. Pattern states that it is recommended for experienced crocheters, as you will need to maintain the surface crochet pattern during increases and decreases.

You will need roughly a pound of baby yarn to complete this pattern. Pattern calls for 2 oz of the yarn (1 skein) to be in a contrasting color. If you want to work the entire collar in a contrasting color (as opposed to just the stripes on the sleeve and collar, as the pattern calls for) you will need more than that in your contrasting color.

Note that the pattern specified “baby yarn,” so the weight given is a best guess from working the pattern.
