Saira is a crescent shaped shawl with mini bobble stripes inspired by my love of purple and texture.

It’s worked top down, using Mary Annarella’s modified garter tab CO, and features stripes of colour in stockinette separated by mini bobble rows, and ends with a feather and fan border.

The mini bobbles featured here are worked over three rows and are really easy to do.

Yarn: 1093yds/1000 m total yarn required of a fingering weight yarn. See notes below.

Sample Used:

  • MC: Dark Harbour Port (100% Merino, 150g, 656 yds/600m) in Orchid Dottyback mini gradient set (6 mini skeins).
  • CC: Dark Harbour Port (100% Merino, 100g, 437 yds/400m) in Velvet Scooter. NOTE: While I used a mini skein gradient set for the MC, a single colour or up to 10 colours can be used instead.

Size: 93.75 inches/238 cm long by 25.5 inches/65 cm deep.

Skills: Garter tab cast on, mini bobbles, slip stitches, decreases and increases.
