When you buy this pattern you get the pattern for both the mitts and the scarf together!

The mitts only use 50g (160m) of yarn so ideal for using up left over yarn.

Both the scarf and the mitts are knit in one piece working the frill backwards and forwards, no picking up stitches needed! The scarf is seamless and the mitts are knit sideways and only need a little seaming along one side. You can add a few more pattern repeats to make both the scarf and mitts slightly larger or work a few less repeats to make them smaller.

I created this pattern to reflect the old mills around Bradford, West Yorkshire, beautiful Victorian architecture and big industrial machines; a bit steampunk.

I have used Baa Ram Ewe’s Titus 4 ply yarn in Bantam, a blend of British wool and UK Alpaca, it’s 100% British. The yarn is named after Sir Titus Salt, a philanthropist and mill owner in Bradford. He opened his mill in 1853 and after that he built houses, a hospital, churches and almshouses for his mill workers. The village was known as Saltaire (hence the name for this project) and still exists today, it’s a lovely place to visit if you are ever in Yorkshire!
