Materials: to make Cowl and Mitts
100 grams (357yds) of Knit Picks Hawthorne Fingering Kettle Dyed yarn, Main Color - Goddess
100 grams (357yds) of Knit Picks Hawthorne Fingering Kettle Dyed yarn, Contrasting Color - Turkish Delight
Needles Size – directions are generic, use your favorite needles, double points, circulars or magic loop
Mitt Needles: Size 1 (2.25mm)
Cowl Needles: Size 5 (3.75mm)
Gauge: Cowl: 6sts per inch, 28” unblocked – Blocked size is 31”x 14”. To adjust size, you can change your needle size or the cast on number in 8 stitch increments. Example; to make a blocked cowl size of about 28-29”, you would cast on about 16sts less (152sts). To make is larger, cast on in 8 stitch increments. Of course, your yardage total will also change. Note: It took exactly 40gms of CC and 60gms MC to make model.
Gauge: Mitts: 8sts per inch, for Ladies medium mitts – to change this you can adjust needle size. The Fair Isle cuff on this mitt measures 7.5” around. If you prefer a cuff with more stretch to it, you can also just knit a rib and then finish mitt in pattern directions. Note: It took exactly 30gms CC and 25gms MC to make model.
