This beginner pattern starts with basic garter stitch and builds knitting skills with each section. Even if you are not a new knitter it’s fun to try out new stitches. The stitches are: stockinette, seed (aka moss), double seed, box stitch, and basketweave. Using chunky yarn will speed up the completion and in turn boost confidence.

There is a garter stitch border which keeps the edges of the scarf flat and by creating this border one learns how to use markers.

Finished size approx. 6.5” x 60”

A smooth, solid (no furry, bumpy, curly or varigated) yarn in a light to medium color will show the different stitch patterns best.

This is a great pattern to teach someone to knit!
