Sandpiper was born out of my love for stripes and simplicity. I wanted something I could easily throw on to ward off a nighttime chill or an over air conditioned building and I find that this goes with so many different things. When I knit a sweater, I want to be able to wear it a lot. The simple lace stripes add just enough visual intrigue while gently keeping the knitting moving along at the same time. And the longer vents at the sides mean I can wear it with dresses or shorts. A relaxing knit and a go-to summer sweater in a fabulous yarn.

Yarn
Stitch Together Studio Stitch Swanky (70% merino, 20% silk, 10% cashmere; 437 yds /100 g): Morel 3 (4, 4, 4,) (5, 5, 5,) (6, 6, 6) skeins. Appx 1255 (1390, 1535, 1685,) (1830, 1975, 2110,) (2255, 2400, 2540) yds—exact yardage will vary!

Needles

Size 4 (3.5 mm) straight or circular (cir) and set of double pointed (dpns) / preferred small circumference needle and Size 2 (2.75 mm) straight or cir, 16” cir and dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions
Markers (m); stitch holders/waste yarn; tapestry needle.

Gauge
28 sts and 40 rows = 4” in Stockinette on larger needles

Notes
This pullover is worked from the bottom up in pieces. Front and back are seamed at the sides and shoulders. Sleeves are then picked up from the armholes and worked down in the round. The neckband is picked up last and worked in the round.
