About the pattern
The socks are knitted in a solid or semisolid yarn to enhance the stitch pattern.
They are knitted cuff-down with an enhanced heel flap and a gusset under the heel. The pattern is created by knit, purl and twisted stitches.

Gauge
34 sts x 45 rnds = 10 x 10 cm in stocking stitch after blocking
38 sts x 45 rnds = 10 x 10 cm in stitch pattern after blocking
When sample was knit, gauge was obtained on 2.5mm needles. I am a tight knitter, so you might need to go down to needle size 2.0-2.25 mm.
