This pattern is suitable for a beginner and includes very clear & concise instructions to make both the beanie and earflap versions of the hat, as well as the belt buckle applique/embellishment.

The pattern includes the following sizes:
Preemie, Newborn-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-4 years, 5-10 years, Teen/Adult, XL Adult.

Materials needed:
J (6mm) or K (6.5mm) hook for the hat
H (5mm) or I (5.5mm) hook for the belt buckle
#5 / 12-ply yarn (Chunky / Bulky) in red or green, black, and gold
(Note that if you cannot find a gold hued yarn in the correct size, you can hold 2 strands of medium weight (#4 / 10-ply) yarn together instead).
