Designed to use my “Splashes of Colour” range of yarn, this simple pattern lets the yarn really shine. The nature of the yarn means that the pattern naturally spirals around the sock, like tinsel on the Christmas tree.

Yarn required: 100g main colour (4ply) and 20g contrasting colour (4ply)

Knit cuff down, and in the round, these socks are simple enough for a tv, or travelling project, perfect for the festive period.
These socks are worked in the round using mini circular needles, you could however use DPN’s, or use the Magic Loop method with a long circular needle. It is important that you do a tension swatch to achieve the correct gauge, it may be necessary to move to a larger or smaller needle size.

The forethought heel heel has been specifically chosen for this pattern, as eliminates the “pooling” effect, that the increase of stitches around the gusset creates, when using variegated yarn, you could use a heel flap and gusset, but please be aware, that you will get a different effect from the yarn, if choosing to use it.
