This lace shawl pattern is constructed in the Orenburg style. It’s approximately 45” square, so can be a small shawl or large scarf. Unlike traditional Orenburg patterns, the design elements are indigenous to New Mexico and the Southwestern part of the United States.

You can use any lace-weight or cobweb yarn that you desire with needles sized 0 through 3, depending on the gauge that you want for the finished piece. I’ve used a 30/2 100% super-fine merino on 2.25mm lace needles from Colourmart.

The pattern is charted, and has written instructions with lots of photographs.
