This scarf looks best double knit with soft dk weight yarn. The result is a very light-weight scarf that drapes beautifully, creating the perfect accent to your outfit.

The Santa Fe Scarf is double knit on the long green 50 peg Knifty Knitter loom and is suitable for an advanced beginner.

Update (May 2014): I’ve updated the scarf pattern to include instructions on creating a shawl and a stole with this same design. The shawl and stole were knit on the blue long Knifty Knitter 62 peg loom and used Hobby Lobby’s Baby Bee Sweet Delight yarn in grape jelly (a lightweight 3) and Red Heart Boutique Changes in granite (a worsted weight 4).

The pattern includes instructions for ALL THREE: the scarf, the shawl, and the stole.
