Sapling is an easy knit with a unique, decorative slipped stitch details. The band on the yoke, and optionally on the sleeves as well, look like woven fabric, but is easily created with a two-row slipped stitch pattern. The sweater is worked entirely in the round and the body and sleeve lengths are easy to adjust.

Materials:
• Yarn: 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) (3, 3, 4, 4) skeins of Purl Soho Linen Quill (50% fine highland wool, 35% alpaca, 15% linen; 402 m / 439 yds per 100 g)
OR 814 (851, 898, 949, 991) (1076, 1188, 1311, 1423) m / 889 (930, 981, 1036, 1082) (1175, 1297, 1432, 1554) yds of fingering weight yarn.
• Needles: 3 mm / US 2.5 circular needle (for stockinette stitch and ribbing) in various lengths depending on the style of knitting, and 4 mm / US 6 60–80 cm / 29–32” circular needle (for Slipped Stitch Band). Or size needed to obtain gauge. You can also use dpns for the sleeves.
• 2 stitch holders or waste yarn, stitch marker.

The sample was knit using Purl Soho Linen Quill in Rosewood Pink.
