I created this pattern at the request of my friend Sara. The Capybara is the world’s largest rodent and is native to South America. Sara and I are fond of them due to the Japanese obsession with the rodent.

This pattern requires 2 buttons for the eyes.

The pattern is worked mostly in the round from the nose to the bumhole, using creative shaping techniques. The legs are worked on later and the ears are worked separately then sewn on. It is worked mostly in sc, though several rows are done in bsc (backwards single crochet- instructions included).

She stands well without weights in her feet.

Be advised: the charts in this pattern are hand-drawn, but they work.
