Welcome to the addictive world of cables! This project was designed as an introduction to cable knitting and works up a fun and reversible cable knit scarf. A great “boot camp” project, this reinforces the skills of knit & purl, basic cables, counting stitches, and counting rows.

Supply List

Yarn: I used 2 skeins of Lion Brand Thick & Quick Yarn (133 Pumpkin, 108 yards). This is a Super Bulky weight. You can use slightly thinner yarn, just be sure to read the label and choose a needle appropriate to the yarn you choose. Gauge is not important in this project.

Needles: I used US #13 Straight Needles (please read the note above)

Notions: Scissors, Measuring Tape, Yarn Needle, Cable Needle (I use a Double Pointed Needle in the same size as my Straights), Row Counter (optional)
