I have a passion for striped knitting. I have an equal love for yarns that stripe on their own, or taking two (or more) colors and striping them myself. When I discovered the Cannon Hand Dyes booth at Sock Summit 2011 I knew I was in love! Shakespeare inspired colorways in self-striping sock yarn, what could be any better??? And as I also have a fondness for all things Halloween, this pattern fairly flew from my needles. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! :)

Pattern Notes…

• This pattern has specific instructions for each section, however these instructions are also all about how to make them customized to fit you. You will have to try your socks on from time to time as you knit and follow the instructions so that you get a pair of knee socks that fit your leg shape well and don’t fall down. If you follow the instructions they should fit most any body type.

• On Substituting Yarn: This pattern is very flexible since it’s written for you to try your socks on repeatedly so you can really get a custom fit. Any fingering yarn should work just fine. If you can’t get your hands on a nice Self-Striping yarn, use two solid colors and alternate skeins every few rows.

• On Choosing Your Buttons: For best results, you may want to purchase your buttons after you have completed the first sock so you can take it with you and try them out for size. Be sure and pick washable buttons!

• This pattern is written to be done magic loop style, but feel free to use another method if you prefer.
