This is a light weight shawl for those not so chilly evenings. The shawl is worked from the bottom to the desired width and border is worked after that.

The design is worked using the diagonal block stitch with a lace border for the edging. The border can also be worked in a contrasting color if desired. The width of the shawl is 56” and the length is 26”. About 900 yards of light fingering weight yarn was used to make this shawl.

Gauge is not important. Using Fingering weight yarn would give a light weight shawl. If using a thicker yarn, one could go up a hook size.
