Oh, the picture does not do this beautiful tree justice! This tree is made by first making a (very quick and easy) shell that fits snug over the Styrofoam cone and makes the tree hold its shape nicely. The Styrofoam cone is a standard size available at most craft stores, but you could also shape some cardboard into a cone and it would work just as well.

The ruffles are then created by simply gathering and attaching the Sashay yarn to the shell with simple slip stitches. I made this entire tree in an evening start to finish and it is just stunning as a centerpiece! The metallic trim on this Sashay yarn is especially ‘glittery’ when Christmas lights are around it:)

If you haven’t seen/had a chance to play with it yet, Sashay is a beautiful 2-1/2” fishnet yarn with metallic trim that is perfect for creating ruffles. So, all the mesh work you see on this tree is already done! Sashay comes in over 20 beautiful variegated and solid colors.
