From the pattern description: Ribbon is a beautiful and readily available material for knitting. There is a huge variety currently on the market, from satins, velvets, and organzas to ginghams and brocades. These simple slippers are worked in two stockinette-stitch pieces in a double-sided satin ribbon that creates a luxurious yet firm fabric. Lined with an insole covered in silk dupion and decoratively adorned with ribbon ties, they are both pretty and practical.
