Inspired by the shapes on the sand left by the tide,
these handwarmers are perfect for walks on the beach.

S (M, L) 6.5 (7.25, 8) inches/ 15(18, 20) cms
Length can be varied but if pattern is followed: 8 inches/ 20 cms

The handwarmers are knit in the round using Magic Loop, starting from the cuff and then working in a thumb gusset. The length can be adjusted by changing the number of cable rounds worked.
The thumb gusset sits in a different place on each hand and its width can be adjusted in the pattern.
The cable is irregular; replicating the shapes made in the sand by the waves and is worked on the back of the hand only.
A cable chart is attached for those who prefer to work from charts,
however, please note that thumb gusset increases are not charted and are only described in the text.
It is recommended to mark the cable area with extra stitch markers for ease.
Ensure the finishing rib for each mitten is followed accurately so that the cable pattern aligns to the rib.
