Sayuri shawl is the pattern for the new RAL - KAL (Read Along - Knit Along) that will start on April 19, 2019 at tiziana’s corner Ravelry group.

This design is inspired by the book “Memoirs of a Geisha”, by Arthur Golden.
Worked top down, it features a fan motif, a temple with its lanterns, zigzag stripes and pagoda shapes, and at the bottom blossoming cherry trees, with flowers on trees and on the ground.
The sample in the first picture is composed by 12 wedges, but directions are given also for a 10 wedges and a 14 wedges version.

The sample in the first picture (12 wedges) has been knit with 866 yd / 792 m of fingering weight 50% merino wool / 50% silk (437 yd / 400 m on 3.53 oz / 100 g) and needles size 3.5 mm – US 4 size.
