Snuggles are a simple blanket/bed for animals in shelters. It gives them something warm and soft to lie on other than a hard cement or cage floor.

From the Snuggles Project website:
The Snuggles Project is well-known as a multi-beneficial project. The first, and most important, benefit is to the animals. After being given a Snuggle, a frightened and/or difficult to handle animal is able become calm. This calming effect gives the animal and the caregiver time to learn how to handle the situation. We believe that this calming effect has saved the lives of many newly sheltered animals.

This is a very simple crochet Snuggle, the pattern uses the (US) stitches: chain stitch, singles crochet and double crochet. The result is a hexagon shaped snuggle with a pretty scalloped edge.

Gauge is not important with this project. What ever you end up with some deserving fur will love it!
