This scarf found its inspiration in the Elizabethan Ruff.
Instructions are given for two versions, a cowl (shown in teal) and a tied scarf (shown in pink).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Tie: 5 1/2” / 14 cm wide x 42” / 106.5 cm long
Cowl: 8” / 20.5 cm wide x 21 1/2” / 54.5 cm long

YARN
Tie: 3 skeins of Rowan Pure Wool 4ply in Color 447 (fingering weight; 174 yds / 160 m per 50 g skein; 100% wool)
Cowl: 2 skeins of Cascade Lana D’Oro in Color 1062 (light worsted weight; 219 yds / 20.25m per 100g skein; 50% wool, 50% superfine alpaca)

NEEDLES
Tie: Size 4 / 3.5 mm (3 needles needed for 3-Needle Bind-Off)
Cowl: Size 7 / 4.5 mm (3 needles needed for 3-Needle Bind-Off)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
