This easy pattern is written for knitting with a BULKY 9MM KNITTING MACHINE. Designed to fit the man who shaves his head and needs the warmth of a close fitting hat. If you are making this for a person with hair, then it will probably fit a 22 inch head circumference. No patterning mechanism is necessary. The complete cap is done in stockinette. Changing the yarn to a yarn with 5 stitches per inch will reduce the size to fit a medium or older child. This takes less than a skein of woolease yarn and a skein will make 2 hats. DO A TENSION SWATCH BEFORE YOU BEGIN. Each machine varies slightly as to tension. So, to be sure of an exact fit, it is necessary to knit and measure a swatch done on your machine.
