This crescent-shaped shawl/shawlette (that can also be worn as a scarf) begins with the narrow edging, worked side to side. Stitches are then picked up along the straight side of the edging and worked up toward the top.

Blue/grey version (shown blocked) is size 45” using Sock-A-Licious in the Celestial colorway for the edging; the body of the shawl is knit in two-row stripes of the Celestial and Moonstruck colorways. (Note: The uppermost couple of inches are not striped since I only had one skein of Celestial and ran out of yarn.) Purple model is shown unblocked; it’s size 39” (blocked measurement) using Sock-A-Licious in the Majesty colorway. This smallest sized used a little less than one skein.

The garter stitch body and lace edging are pretty stretchy, so you can block it as little or as much as you like—or not at all. I blocked mine simply by soaking in wool wash, laying them out on a beach towel to dry, and stretching and patting into place with my hands and tugging on the edging points a little; I didn’t use blocking wires or pins for these.
