I love this new yarn, Rizos. It’s so easy to knit on any size needle, and it makes the cutest little ruffle ever. I wanted a summery yarn with lots of drape for this version, so I chose Bambool. It would be perfect in Mulberry Silk, Pure Pima, or lots of others. I’m also thinking of a larger version in something like Malabrigo Worsted for winter.

As I was adding our new little ruffled shawlette into my Ravelry notebook, I realized that there were already dozens of ruffled shawlettes in there. Our little pattern needs a better name; it needs a woman’s name. It needs a name that conjures up images of a woman who’s fun and flirty. Someone who knows how to be feminine and still gets taken seriously. But who?

Scarlett O’Hara, of course. She’s the biggest flirt of all time, but she’s no nonsense when it comes to getting what she needs and wants. And she understands the value of a pretty little wrap, ‘cause everybody knows “You can’t show your bosom ‘fore three o’clock”.
