Schoodic Point mittens include a well-fitting gusset thumb and cozy lined cuff, bringing warmth and cheer to a snappin’ Maine day! The colors and patterns used in this design were inspired by the chaotic surf, whipping clouds and ubiquitous maritime sunburst lichen (Xanthoria parietina) of the Schoodic Peninsula. Part of Acadia National Park, it’s especially enjoyable to visit in the winter and early spring when few other people are about— it’s a great time to watch the seabirds and surf, fill up on fresh air, and wear your mittens!
