I heavily adapted this pattern to create my scoodie: http://claresaddictedtoyarn.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-to-c...

I tweaked the hood to shape the face and added pockets at the end of the scarf.

I crochet with a medium loose hand so my stitches are generally stretchy.

This can be made for any size as long as you take measurements of the recipient. I made this scoodie for a teenager with an armspan of 68 inches. Add 60-80 extra chains to your starting chain depending on how deep you want the pockets. Be sure to mark the center chain for stitch counting purposes.

I used Red Heart Super Saver for this project as I have so much of it. With proper adjustments, you could use Caron Simply Soft or something thicker. I would not use fingering or anything too small.

K hook worked great for Red Heart Super Saver yarn, but adjust your hook to the yarn you are using to obtain the size garment you want.

It took about 1.75 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver yarn to complete this project. It’s very easy to adjust the pattern for alternating colors.
