If you’re like me, you hate to waste yarn! But how do you use the leftovers in a beautiful way? With this problem in mind, I designed this scrap yarn lap throw. It eats up scrap yarn so I hope you have a lot. I used about 3 pounds of yarn or 2,100 yards of worsted weight yarn for a 42” x 48” blanket. The stripes go long ways, the opposite of most blankets for added interest.

You are basically making a bulky weight blanket so you can use bulky weight yarn, worsted weight yarn held double, DK weight held double or triple, sport weight held triple and fingering weight knitted with 4 strands of yarn held together.
