The Scrappy Quilt Socks are a celebration of two fabulous things.

Firstly, my love of creating designs that use precious bits of yarn, either leftovers or pretty minis skeins. I knitted two samples for this design, one from scraps and the other using a mini skein set.

Secondly, these socks were designed to mark the 10th anniversary of our Bakery Bears video show. What a 10 years it’s been!! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us along the way.

The socks are inspired by half triangle quilts and are SO wonderfully squishy.

Sock Details

The socks feature a knit and purl texture pattern, that resembles half triangle quilt squares. One half of the square is stocking stitch, and the other is reverse stocking stitch. It’s easy to memorise and to read your knitting, and would suit beginner and more experienced knitters

The sock has a garter edged heel flap and my Umbrella Toe. I have included a video tutorial showing how to pick up along the heel flap when working your gusset.

I have also included a video showing how I weave in my ends, once the socks are finished.

The texture pattern is both written and charted. Instructions are written for the magic loop method, but other methods can of course be used.

Sizes

The pattern comes in 3 sizes - Small (56 sts), Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts).

Yarn

One of the sample pairs is knitted using lots of leftovers and the second pair is knitted using a mini skein bundle from Polka Dot Creek.
