Inspired by the rolling ocean waves, this pattern features wave textures increasing from gentle ripples to crashing waves.
The pattern is based on a 12 row pattern sequence that is repeated four times. Each row of the pattern is based on the same sequence with variations on the start and end of the row.

The pattern is shown with 4 repeats using about 400g of sock yarn. It can also be made with minimum of 1.5 repeats and extended with as many repeats as desired.

The yarn shown is a 20 skein mini gradient set from Changeling Coloured yarns. It can also be made with variegated or a mixture of solid and variegated yarns.
This shawl is the latest in the Sculptured Waves series and features waves that increase a tiny ripple at the beginning of the row to big breaking waves at the end of row.
The pattern is mostly front loop crochet stitches so requires some concentration especially at the beginning and of of the rows.
