Scuola. September is time here to go back to school. This cute tunic is ideal to wear. 3/4 length sleeves and a nicely curved hem make this a must for our dolls.
It is knit flat, bottom up with short rows to give the shaping. Shoulder seams are sewn and then stitches picked up to work the sleeves downwards. Short rows form the shaping for the sleeve cap giving an excellent fit.
The neck is worked in the round in rib. It is wide enough to easily pass over the doll’s head. The little girl I designed this for wanted a tunic like her’s which didn’t have buttons!
Sleeve length can easily be changed by adding more rows to make a full length sleeve if preferred.

This pattern is classed as intermediate because there are short rows.
I like the german short rows as I find they are so very quick and easy to do and not obvious on the finished item. There are many free tutorials online. Any method you prefer can be used however. I think I have tried most if not all of them.
Please check your gauge to make sure the tunic will fit.
