Inspired by the frothy waves of the Atlantic Ocean on a blustery winter day, the Sea Foam Beanie is richly textured and features a foamy stitch pattern. The beanie is worked sideways and uses unique short row shaping, and the pattern is easily adjustable to fit any size with any yarn weight. The Sea Foam Beanie is an intermediate/advanced level pattern.

Thanks to The Yarn Shop at Alma Park for providing the yarn to make the sample!

Gauge
16 sts and 16 rows = 4”/10cm in sc. When gauge is met, 2 st repeats = 2.5”/6cm. Each wedge measures 2”/5cm around. For best results, use the first 1-2 wedges as your gauge swatch. You’ll want a slightly stretchy fabric for a comfortable fit. If you don’t want to get gauge, follow the adjustment notes throughout the pattern to work the beanie to size. Differences in gauge will change the finished size and will also impact the yardage required.

Yarn and Colors
For best results, use a yarn that has clear stitch definition and isn’t too splitty. The stitch pattern breaks up variegated yarns really well, but the variegation may obscure the texture.
